My Family...the Writers and so much more.
The love for writing has been captured in my daughter Jeri. Actually my love for flowers, creativity, writing, pondering and simplicity are all quite reflective in who she is. Now she would like to share her thoughts with you. You can visit her at http://thebasketofflowers.blogspot.com/

Why Write?

Why Write?
Someone asked me the other night why do I write on my blog. Two reasons...First, for myself. It is a way for me to consider my thoughts. I may not have all the answers but I am certainly searching for them. Secondly, I write for my daughters. I plan to have these memoirs turned into a book someday. Then when the day comes that I am no longer physically with them my girls can read my thoughts, the things I pondered, what I believed, how I struggled, who I loved and what I hated. And in reading they will know me and know my ways. Kinda like the Bible.

Future Florists

"Future Florist's of America." Just like their mama. It's no secret I love flowers. And more than just loving them, I love to design with them. Thirteen years ago Ramiro and I sold our flower shop because I was pregnant with Jamie and we didn't want the business to interfere with us raising the children. Now all those years later Jamie and Jeri, and we can't leave out Jorgie, have inherited my love for the very same thing. I see the same creativeness in them that I have. They have a desire to learn and are in awe when I make "special requests." Not to mention they have a real romantic side as well. A definite pre-requisite for floral! Anyway I am excited to see what the future may hold. God is amazing! All those years ago He led us to lay down a dream and it is so exciting to see how He is growing it in the next generation.
Below are picture of me making a wrist corsage for a family friend!

Above applying floral tape to the flowers and ribbons. To the left, me cutting babies breath.

The finished product! Astromerias, 1/2 a dozen sweet heart roses and babies breath make this breath taking wristlet corsage! I do take orders for all occasions!! You should see the mums!!!
