My Family...the Writers and so much more.
The love for writing has been captured in my daughter Jeri. Actually my love for flowers, creativity, writing, pondering and simplicity are all quite reflective in who she is. Now she would like to share her thoughts with you. You can visit her at http://thebasketofflowers.blogspot.com/

Why Write?

Why Write?
Someone asked me the other night why do I write on my blog. Two reasons...First, for myself. It is a way for me to consider my thoughts. I may not have all the answers but I am certainly searching for them. Secondly, I write for my daughters. I plan to have these memoirs turned into a book someday. Then when the day comes that I am no longer physically with them my girls can read my thoughts, the things I pondered, what I believed, how I struggled, who I loved and what I hated. And in reading they will know me and know my ways. Kinda like the Bible.

Mexico Mission Trip 2010

We just returned from Reynosa, Mexico this morning. Here Jorgie is with America wearing their new sombreros! They look absolutely precious. Behind them you can see the Tostada Shells, beans, lettuce and tomatoes; all prepared to serve 200 + Catholic High School students that came to build 14 homes for our friends in the colonia.

Jamie, Brenda, Janie, Sami and Patsy working fast!!!

The students carried a cross down the dirty, dusty roads of the colonia and sang "Were you there when they Crucified my Lord?"
As we walked the dogs began to bark, the people came out from their homes and the crowd that followed grew larger.

Jeri, Trei, Trustin and Ele following in the procession. As we walked I couldn't help but remember Jesus. He had a hard walk to walk. He endured so much. Along the way to Calvery, where He conquered sin, was filled with much suffering. I must remember what Christ did for me this season. This is the season above all seasons that matters for the redeemed!
